The inspection must be carried out by an electrical contractor who has the required training and experience in fire alarm systems installation and inspections, and who is not the installing contractor, or involved in any way in the design of the fire alarm system.
This means that, if you have had your fire alarm system installed by one fire and electrical contractor, you must have it inspected and verified by a second, unrelated fire and electrical contractor, before an occupancy permit can be issued for the building.
